Adrienne Lovelock – Thinkers of The Hills Series – Real Stories, Real People, Real Songs
DESCRIPTION
Adrienne Lovelock – Real stories, real people, real songs
Adrienne Lovelock is a singer-songwriter well known on the Adelaide folk music scene. Her songwriting has a strong emphasis on narrative and character, often retelling the stories of people from our past in a fresh style that honours folk traditions. Her current projects include creating a body of songs about the history and heritage of Lobethal. One of these songs – One More Hill, the story of an enterprising lady from Lobethal’s early years – won the 2017 Judith Crossley Memorial Award at the Fleurieu Folk Festival. Accompanied by her partner, guitarist Peter Day, Adrienne will perform some of her songs, and talk about the stories behind them and how she approaches song-writing.
***Attendees are invited to join the speaker for dinner at the The Scenic Hotel (Norton Summit) after the talk. If you would like to join for dinner, please select the ticket type “General admission (RSVP dinner)” so that we can make a reservation. Please note that dinner is at your own cost.***
Thinkers of the Hills is offered the first Thursday of the month 6:30pm to 7:30pm May to September.
