GRAMMY Award-winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, James Taylor, has set the stage for a highly anticipated 2024 Australian tour. Titled “An Evening with James Taylor and His All-Star Band,” the tour promises to be an unforgettable experience for fans of the legendary musician.
The tour is scheduled to commence on April 12 at Kings Park & Botanic Garden in Perth, followed by performances at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne on April 16, Adelaide Entertainment Centre on April 19, and concluding at Sydney’s Aware Super Theatre on April 23. Fans can expect a night filled with Taylor’s iconic songs, warm baritone voice, and his distinctive style of guitar-playing that has captivated audiences for more than 50 years.
Taylor’s profound influence on songwriters and music lovers across generations is undeniable. His timeless hits like “Fire and Rain,” “Country Road,” “Sweet Baby James,” “Carolina In My Mind,” and the Grammy-winning “You’ve Got A Friend,” have become anthems for many. His ability to connect with his audience through his music and storytelling is what makes his concerts more than just a performance.
In addition to the main tour dates, “An Evening with James Taylor and His All-Star Band” will also be featured at A DAY ON THE GREEN events on April 21 at Sirromet Wines Mount Cotton, followed by performances at Bimbadgen Hunter Valley on April 27 and Centennial Vineyards Bowral on April 28.
James Taylor’s illustrious career spans over five decades, during which he has sold more than 100 million albums and earned numerous gold, platinum, and multi-platinum awards since his debut in 1968. His album “Before This World” in 2015 marked his first-ever #1 album, further cementing his status as a music icon.
Taylor’s accolades extend beyond the music charts. He has been inducted into both the Rock and Roll and the prestigious Songwriters Halls of Fame. His contributions to music and culture have been recognized with the MUSICARES Person of the Year award in 2006, the French Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters, and the National Medal of Arts presented by President Barack Obama in 2012.
In addition to his musical achievements, Taylor was honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2015 and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016. His audio-only memoir “Break Shot,” detailing his life’s first 21 years, was released in early 2020, followed by his 19th studio album “American Standard.” This album not only won the 2021 GRAMMY Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album but also marked a record-setting achievement for Taylor, becoming the first artist to have a Billboard Top 10 album in each of the past six decades.
The Live Nation pre-sale for the tour begins on Wednesday, December 6, at 9am, concluding on Friday, December 8, at 9am. General public tickets will be available from Friday, December 8 at 10am.
