Morant A Note to Nell
18th August – Special Event on the Clipper Ship “Adelaide”:-
Dear Friends & Music Lovers
After our sold out Fringe performances of Harry Morant’s poems put to music by Graham Jenkin & Dave Clark & performed by our cast of 15 talented singers & musos, we did 3 more performances on request in the cozy Clarendon Gazebo. The last one last Sunday has drawn so many favourable comments. If you missed out or want to come again as some people say they do, we have our next performance of Morant A Note to Nell aboard the Adelaide Clipper Ship on 18th August 3.30pm – 4.30pm. Here is some info you can share & to enable you to make appropriate bookings if you are interested.
The Clipper ship City of Adelaide was built in 1864 for the London to Adelaide run and named for our city. She was shipped from Glasgow Scotland to Port Adelaide & is now here for maritime enthusiasts to restore & everyone to visit. She is the oldest clipper ship in the world & the most important ship in Australia. The renovated Adelaide ship has beautiful ambience inside – set up as a museum. It will be a delight especially with actors/musicians in costume to entertain! Audience are welcome to come in costume. For pictures & further info see attachments.
The clipper ship is on a barge, dock one Port Adelaide with car parking end of Todd Street. There is further parking at the end of Wauwa Street then you walk along wharf to the ship. Be aware access to the ship is by stairway only. Toilet on dock level. Soft drinks available for sale on dock level.
