Rose Parker and Nat Ripepi

hero
Rose Parker and Nat Ripepi, separately, have earned the reputation of being 2 of Perth’s top female acoustic singer/songwriters with a string of awards, tours, recordings, accolades and moreThey are a powerhouse duo of multi instrumental and vocal harmonies that delight audiences with their fun filled, energetic and mesmerising performances. This special show at Trinity Sessions there will see a mix of solo and duo songs. The Velvet Janes were one of our favourite Australian bands and it has taken a very long time to get Rose back in Adelaide; I can’t wait.

Rose Parker is an acclaimed singer, songwriter and guitarist who draws from indie-folk, gospel, blues and alternative country to craft clear-eyed songs of hope and resignation, humour and grief, gratitude and resilience. Her songs go straight to the heart; powerful, passionate and soulful. She writes from a distinctly Australian perspective about living life in this big beautiful red dirt country, the people, the places, the stories. Prior to her solo career, Rose was one half of the very successful duo The Velvet Janes, touring extensively throughout Australia, U.S.A. and Canada, releasing 3 full length albums and one Ep, appearing at most major music festivals and opening for many high profile international and national recording artists.

Nat Ripepi has been wowing audiences with her rocking, spine tingling live performances for 20+ years and has released 2 independent full-length albums as well as 5 EP’s. She has toured extensively throughout both Australia and the UK, receiving rave reviews along the way. Critics and fans have drawn parallels to artists such as Missy Higgins, Sarah McLachlan and Melissa Etheridge with her blend of acoustic guitar and gutsy vocals coupled with addictive hooks and emotive lyrics. She has also been the opening act for a number of high profile international and national touring artists such as Pat Benatar, The Bangles, Ben Folds Five, The Waifs, John Butler, Passenger, Nizlopi, Luka Bloom, Billy Bragg, Mark Seymour, and Kate Ceberano to name a few.
