SCALA returns in Mad March

…..and you’d be mad to miss it!

Adelaide arts festivals and fringes may finish this Friday, but SCALA proudly continues to deliver great artists and acts as always. All year. Forget all that dress-up-and-stand-mute-for-30-mins stuff or being charged $12 a beer, we’re doing what we do best: unearthing multiple great local and interstate talents and presenting them together at a high-profile, dedicated venue at a third the price. So you can still afford us even after the main Adelaide festivities come to a close. So avoid all withdrawal symptoms and catch this bargain event on March 21st…..

SCALA Live @ The Wheaty

Thursday 21st March 2019

1. Acid Rose

Acid Rose are an indie pop acoustic duo based in Adelaide, South Australia. Formed in 2016, they started to play live venues and house parties throughout Adelaide. After writing a few originals they uploaded their first Soundcloud release, ‘Actually Not Bad’, in 2018.

With a soft strumming, finger picking guitar beneath distinctive harmonious and emotional vocals, their sound is reminiscent of their influences, including Stevie Nicks, Amy Winehouse and Florence and the Machine. Pulling at the listeners heartstrings, their music is filled with honest, raw lyrics with a hint of passion and melancholia.

The duo started Acid Rose after an instant musical connection and mutual appreciation was discovered from first playing together. After securing a semi-regular spot at The Two Sisters, Acid Rose honed their craft at performing live. Consequently, it became apparent that music is what they wanted to do, and so they began recording demos. They are currently working on writing and recording more original music.

2. Dana O’Shea Trio

Dana is a passionate songwriter and lyricist as well as an experienced lead guitar player. He is an enthusiastic musician, usually found with a guitar in his hands, and has collaborated with many exceptional performers in bands and duos, sharing many interesting musical experiences over the past 25 years.

Dana is enthused to share his works and experiences with the kindred souls of the appreciative SCALA audience. He will be joined on stage by long time friends and collaborators -bassist Stephen and percussionist George to add a touch of class.

3. Steve Charles Band

Steve Charles writes from the heart and soul with passion and dedication.
Steve has 5 albums and 9 singles, currently working on his latest due for release in Feb this year.

Steve has been a spotlight artist (solo) and run a workshop for SCALA and would love love to show off his latest songs with his band SCB as he heads toward releasing a new album.
