Winner of the 2018 Judith Crossley Songwriting Competition, Steve Lennox’s evocative storytelling is infused with prose,hooky rhythms and striking melodies. With traces of Conor Oberst, Calexico and the finger picking fragility of Iron and Wine at his most poignant. The disarmingly warm timbre of his voice provides a constant thread throughout. His influences are vast and drive his songwriting with an energy that appears in his charismatically joyous live performances.

Steve has shared the bill with artists such as Archie Roach,Neil Murray and Paul Kelly. He has also worked with the Slingsby Theatre Company in the Ruby Award winning Man Covets Bird and was a pivotal member of the Americana outfit,The Heggarties.

Steve’s new album In The Lighter Dark is a collection of songs based on the lighthouse keeping history of his family. He has brought these stories to life in collaboration with Jen Lush. They, along with a full band will be launching In The Lighter Dark on Friday, September 25th.
