Tristen Bird
Son of a country-folk musician, South Australian artist Tristen Bird captivates Australian audiences with his heartfelt narrative and finely crafted songs. With his brand new album ‘Yonder Comes The Sun’ tucked under his arm he will be coming to play Stone Pony for the first show of 2019. It has been a big few years since Tristen Bird’s last release, and it has certainly been worth the wait. Recorded in Melbourne Australia and in Muscle Shoals Alabama with mixing in both Melbourne & in Memphis Tennessee with Grammy award winning producer Matt Ross Spang (Jason Isbell/Margot Price/Chris Stapleton), Tristen Bird connects with his audience in a sincere and emotive manner, and welcomes players from across the musical divide to bring the tales to life.
“Bird sets a very high standard with this debut slow burner of a release. If you’re ready for an album that’s gentle, intimate and lovingly crafted, Horse to Water may be just the thing.”
Khristian Mizzi
More than just a few have said with enthusiasm that Khristian Mizzis songs take them to a place they’d forgotten in themselves. With a warm, lilting voice and an art for weaving beauty and truth into the words of each song, Khristian Mizzi reaches the hearts of his audiences. His performances have been described as being ‘captivating’, leaving listeners feeling they have experienced something special. Poetic lyrics, meandering melodies and a voice like a big warm hug along with a unique picking style, Mizzi really is a complete artist and is becoming renowned for his intimate performances and thoughtful songs.
Khristian Mizzi is fast becoming a favourite amongst Folk Music fans throughout Australia. In 2017 he was awarded the ‘Troubadour Artist’ of the year award at The Newstead Live! Folk Festival. More recently, he has performed as headline act at various Regional Concert Halls, House Concerts and has performed at numerous Festivals around the country where he continues to captivate capacity audiences. Khristian has started work on his first solo full length album which he hopes to release at the beginning of 2019.
