Join us for our End of Year Party at HAts Courthouse in Auburn

Come for BBQ at 6pm Concert at 8pm

The Commissioners came together in 1996 on Vanuatu’s largest island, Santo. They were the first group to sing acapella and performed concerts in churches, communities and halls across the Vanuatu Islands to a fantastic popular response. The group moved to the capital Port Vila in 2001 with the line-up changing and inspiring offshoot groups to start up.

They have used their music to raise funds for community projects, churches and travelled to Australia, Fiji and Lost Angeles to perform.

In 2005 they released their first CD Blessed Redeemer a collection of gospel songs. While the album was not particularly successful, one of the songs Heaven’s Economy topped the PNG TVCharts for six months.
In 2019 the group presented a 3 week Australian fundraising tour, successfully generating over $1000,00 for the El Haven Women’s Shelter in Port Vila.

In 2020 & 2021 group members came to South Australia to work as part of the Pacific Labour Scheme Program. They work in farms across the State and come together to sing at weekends. Still singing together after 22 years, they effortlessly blend close harmonies in a way that comes naturally to them. Drawing on church hymns and gospel, pacific Island folk songs and regional pop songs The Commissioners are a unique phenomenon, They impress their audiences with the sheer joy of singing together in performances that are powerful, emotional, uplifting and affirming.
